Aleksejs is a businessman, entrepreneur, and author, who with more than 8 years of experience in the e-commerce field and selling on different marketplaces like Amazon, Mercadolibre, Walmart, Shopify, and eBay has written a guide to help people start their e-commerce journey.
“I wrote a book ‘How to sell on Amazon.com’ and ‘How to sell on MercadoLibre’, a guide that shows how Amazon and Mercadolibre work. The books help people who are looking to start their e-commerce journey.” Aleksejs says.
Fortunately, Aleksejs Leal is open to sharing his extensive experience in e-commerce to help others succeed too.
In his own process, Aleksejs had a lot of support, which helped him learn about e-commerce more smoothly. But not everyone has support, so he decided to teach free classes for e-commerce sellers or people who aspire to be e-commerce sellers. In addition, he is part of the world’s largest meetup group called Wizards of Ecom, where he participates as a speaker.
“My advice to people starting their own business is to choose the right business for you. What is your passion? It would be best to find the things that you can fill, the things that you want to fill. In that way, you can produce enough income to build a profitable business. Lastly, know yourself. Ask yourself first, what are you willing to give up reaching that goal?” Aleksejs states.
Aleksejs knows that in e-commerce, the greatest strength is in diversification. It is crucial for an entrepreneur to be able to run multiple businesses that offer convenient ways for customers to purchase varied products and services.
This is why Aleksejs himself currently runs multiple e-commerce businesses that offer convenient ways for customers to purchase the products they require. He has grown stores on Amazon, Mercado Libre, eBay, Shopify and Walmart simultaneously even though they are all on different platforms because he understands that it is important to know why a given product or service “sells,” and why it matters.
Moreover, because the e-commerce industry has skyrocketed to an unimaginable level, there is increased competition within an over-saturated industry, and thus it is very difficult for stores to distinguish themselves.
“To address this, our stores always have a professional look and feel, with websites always properly optimized.” Aleksejs adds.
When business owners know what they are offering or selling, and why it is a good product or service for their customers, they can start to figure out their target customer. This is key because businesses do not need all the customers, just the right customers.
Another key to successful e-commerce is focusing on customer service. Aleksejs prides himself on the service he provides his clients through all his businesses. This is because he understands the value of good service.
“These stores are available all day, every day, which means that customers can visit the stores at all times, regardless of their schedule.” Aleksejs explains.
In the near future, Aleksejs will continue to manage and grow his 25 e-commerce stores. He is working to build assets and continue to sell products he is passionate about.
